Bali..... 2nd installment

I thought I found the perfect victorian blouse but thanks to my boobs, I have to forgo it... the button came off....*grrrr*

Yesss...CNY coming and I'm drag to go back Taiping....Anyway, I'm planning for another trip with my Boy to Phuket this May.... can't afford my Haadyai-Krabi-PhiPhi-Phuket expedition due to time constrain....so just concentrate on Phuket. I realise, travelling to Redang, the prices are comparable to Phuket!!! SO decided to add RM100-200 hundred to get our passport stamp! Somehow that fella doesnt believe in spending RM500-600 for a resort in Malaysia??? Hrrmmsss...... there goes my Four Seasons, Tanjung Jara, Pangkor Laut.......

This post, is bout outskirt of Bali.
On 2nd day, we did a day tour to Ubud, Kintamani and Tanah Lot. We arranged our tour under Stefan. Real honest fella and we just love his flexibility unlike some agent would bring you every tom dick and harry's shop to gain commision. If anyone of u guys interested buzz me for his number and email.
Those fellas desprate for jobs yet still honest. I'm truly happy with the service he provided. RM190 for 1 1/2 days tour. I really took sympathy on those Balinese after the bomb. It has not been good for them yet they are still jolly and friendly towards the tourist and live a I'm-contented lifestyle. It makes me actually reflect back my life now which I earn much much much more than them yet still not satisfied.... hrmmm...so guys plz VISIT BALI!!!!
If you afraid of the bomb, dun go clubbing in commercial area lor..... stay in Nusa Dua but a trip down Kuta is a must!!

We travel to Ubud to see some handicraft, silvers and have their famous Babi Guling.

Babi Guling.....it's darn good dude!!! It's like suckling pig with some herbs... The fried intestine RAWKS!!!! (and I dun eat intestine)

Then to Kintamani to view the majestic Mount Batur and Mount Agung which also the volcano mountain. It's abit too cloudy for sight seeing....


On the way to Kintamani from Ubud (around 2 hours drive) we pass by terrace Paddy field.They just harvest... Imagine if it's green... I really want to see the beauty of it


Then to Pura Tanah Lot (another 2 hours drive)to watch sunset (which dint happen cuz too cloudy) and the market.

In bahasa Indonesia, they call it Bebek......cute name..

Apparently couples are not supposed to take pictures TOGETHER when they are inside... Me and Sunny took quite a number... The local believe it will lead the couple to break up.... My fren told me her fren broke up with the BF a month after their trip......HrrmmmmMmmmmzzzz


Day 2, we decided to do our tour after lunch cuz we dint get a chance to TAN (it has been raining off and on)!!!
Imagine, 3 hours tan without protection and just pure tanning oil (kiasu marrr....shortcut tanning) gave both of us a NEW skin.... am still peeling OK!!! started with my face and now peeling on my thigh. I can basically get in touch with my iguana.... NEW SKIN!!!!

We departed to SUKAWATI..... as i was told, this market only patronise LOCALS so it's supposed to be CHEAPER than any other market around.
Let say I bought beaded slipper for USD1.5 per pair, sling bag for USD3.5...
It's a place if you like shell accesories, I-love-Bali t-shirt, lotsa lotsa straw bags, embroidery bags, home deco...bargain like hell la.

The Food
Top- consume Bakso which I think it's similar to our Lontong and Mie ayam...like kon lo maggie mee...It's darn yummy and per bowl is....RM2????

Indonesian food is similar to our Malay food...*duuuhhh* and I like Warung Made's (in KUta) Nasi Campur special....USD4 per plate and it worth every cent!!!

After shopping we are supposed to hit down south but we over shoppe so can't make it in time for Sunset in Uluwatu and their fame Kecak Dance (some fire show i was told)
We head to Dreamland Secret Beach (as told by the local) down south... It supposed to be their best kept beach (exclude Nusa Dua private beach) and surfer's paradise.. Girls take note, go in the morning to catch those surfer's dude!!!! In the evening the wind is too strong....


Then we head to Jimbaran bay but the seafood is super expensive so we decided to leave....It's not worth it and I was told, just go back to KLang for seafood....

Overall, I LOVE BALI!!!! I love their culture!!!! and I would definately be back again!!!!!

As comparable to Phuket....
-Phuket has nicer beach and clearer water
-Phuket has the best mini island!
-Market shopping in Phuket are way better
-The girls in Bali aren't like those in Phuket. Part of the Balinese religion is to start a family so the girls there are more conservative. You wont get those slutty girls flocking around the whites like the Thais
-Bali has more culture
-Both have equally fantastic food
-Shopping in Phuket (market) slightly harder to bargain.... this before tsunami
-Both hotels are equally clean
-In my opinion, I think Balinese are more friendly than Thais
-Bali surfing brand are WAYYYYYY cheaper
-Bali has Mooks and Paul FRank....ORIGINAL!!!
-The pubs and shops in Patong closes later...

Start of the buzzzzy year....

It's has been a very hectic week since i start working. My schedule has been haywire since beginning of January...... work has piled up (means more student???), preparation for my student's examination (which they sux...*sigh*)Disclaimer:ok..they don't sux, how i wish ALL could at least don't give me any last minute nonsense

The only thing I'm looking forward to is a week break for CNY....still contemplating whether to take leave on 4th (Yamaha break from 28th Jan till 3rd, and yes I work on SATURDAY) and since there's school replacement this coming saturday, so gotta postponed 2 classess (2 hours) to Sunday.

Bummer....!!!!

Am still in lepaking mood.... How I wish I could strike a lottery NOW and take a year off to see the world.... My Thailand escapade would be the 1st.......*sun-tanning, blue green water, hunks and more hunks walking around.....*

Yes time to go to bed....I know....

My weekend has been pretty eventful.....

Road trip to Taiping (that's my hometown which in Perak if your geography sux)include the Zoo




Our main itenerary is Maxwell Hill to see some tulips....which turn out...





And Patricia and Li Lian's (my colleague) birthday dinner @ some jap restaurant in Mont Kiara (a condo opposite GIS)

Bali - Kuta area

I'm actually missing Bali right now...ok...I'm actually missing HOLIDAYS more like it.
It's a very cultural place to be. Everywhere there's small shrine and the Balinese are very very very friendly....not to mention trying to guide you to buy their stuff luring us to their shop.
Shopping in Bali, are not too bad.... Surfing brands are so much cheaper than KL and the best part we found this factory outlet shop selling those brands real CHEAP!!!
Roxy bikini for 15 USD and below, I got my Rip Curl bikini for USD 9 and USD 11 each..USD2.5 for RipCurl beach slipper and so on....we end up crazy in there.
As for Local products, unless you are into straw and embroidery bags, beaded slipper (which I bargained till USD 1.5) and I-LOVE- BALI t-shirts.....accessories are much nicer in Kuta and some home furnishing stuff (which I didnt get any cuz I dont have house of myself...yet)... Other than that, a good relaxation holidays....
Security are TIGHT yo.... everywhere high end pubs, bigger hotels and shopping mall once you enter there would be security check so no worries of getting BOMB!!!...

NO BOMB!!!! I'm back in 1 PIECE!!!!

Journey from airport to Kuta town is merely 15 minute but thanks to their small roads which forever traffic jam, took us around 25-30 minutes.


Legian Street. It's their popular main Street where all the boutiques and pubs and forever jam.





We stayed in Taman Sari Cottages, Poppies Lane 2...in the heart of Kuta. The entrance to the 'hotel' are small, so I begin to have doubt in our place but as we enter, I was amazed they actually have a pool and a jacuzzi. Our room is nice and CLEAN.....yes, even the hotel surrounding are CLEAN.

And every toilet you use, even the most capalang mamak kinda warung, the toilet are DARN CLEAN....and they have TOILET ROLLS!!!!

The popular Poppies lane 1 & 2, is smaller than I thought... Supposedly the happening Lane filled with backpackers pubs and hotels has become quiet since the bombing in 2003.

Kuta Beach..... the water is quite murky...but I respect the locals working along the beach. They take an effort to CLEAN up their beach whenever they spot rubbish, something we MSIAN gotta learn from them. It's their beach, it's their life and rice bowl . It's definately much much cleaner than our dear Penang beach ok.....

What I have experienced in 2005:-
1)Got rob and slashed both hands.... blardee fuckers!!!!!!
2)My 1st operation with full anesthetic to join back my tendon due to the slash
3)My longest break, MC.....3 weeks, blardee hell can tour Europe or backpack ASEAN countries lehhh!!!!!!
4)A chance to see a white peacock/pheasant in Shanghai, which apparently very rare
5)MOre alert and fearful when i'm out


What I'm looking forward in 2006:-
1)Getting closer to GOD
2)Higher salary
3)More commitment to my work
4)Self upgrading
5)My self 'Haadyai-Krabi-Koh Phi Phi-Phuket in 1 week' expedition
6)To cover Bangkok *wink at Suilin*, Beijing(1st Choice) or Shanghai (for Autumm) and Redang (mid year) and either Egypt/Maldives/Mauritius for year end
7)Cut down MASSIVELY on Shopping to save up for AMsterdam and Prague in 2007
8)Only splurge OVERSEAS!!!!
9)Spend NYE abroad
10)Pick up Yoga and Pilates
11)QUIT smoking!!?? (yea rite, been telling myself for past 3-4 years)
12)AFter all the travelling, save up for wedding hopefully 2008???2009??2010???
13)More travelling
14)More fear-less and stop thinking the worst when walking down the street in KL/PJ..Thanks to those fuckers am paranoid on street...I'm so phobia with motocycle noise.

After touch down from Bali on 31st, I rushed from airpot to Sentral to my house to get changed for NYE party in Cafe Citron..... Lucky thing the jam to KL not massive yet....Manage to reach there by 10ish...

This theme is amNYEsia.... free flow of wine, beer, liqour and even champange. As usual....everyone either drunk of pass out...
I had fun...partying and drinking and still manage to walk to the car.
