The day I turn a year older......

(Taken with my horrible 1.3MP camera phone)

I got a bouquet of flowers from my Slut!! My favourite gerberras and i love the yellow lillies. Lucky he smart, no roses!!! I hate roses.....I think they are boring!!! (unless he could splurge on the Champagne coloured ones) and white lillies.....Boring!!! *yawn*

I wonder when can I have sunflowers or tulips....:P
Anyway..... Not much a flower person, but it's nice to receive once in the blue moon actually....*grinz*

Bouquet in the vase....

On the day itself, we went to have dinner at Banquet at Bangsar Village 2. The name Banquet sound so 'cina' but the deco and the ambience is totally way beyond the red cloth table and the karaoke system. After few good reviews from the fellow food blogger, I decided to give this place a try.

I was quite mesmerise at the deco the 1st time I walk by this place.... hrmmm...white garden theme with fake miniature pine tree, more like a garden wedding theme.... but after 2nd and 3rd time, nahhh..... doesn't attract me anymore.

We started with the Wild Rocket salad with Parmigiano Cheese, sliced pear and served with roasted Pine Nuts and drizzled with Foie Gras reduction. For RM25 I find it a little on the expensive side for a small portion. Before that I only take Caesar Salad cuz I'm not a big fan of raw greens, but after trying out this...maybe I shall add Wild rocket to my salad list? Very Very minimal of the Foie Gras tho....hrmm. Taste wise, not too bad...

Was comtemplating between the Foie gras or the escargot, but since Slut never enjoy Foie Gras, I decided on the Escargot. Slut liked it very much but I find the taste abit.....weird and fake! Something is wrong somewhere.... maybe not fresh? But then isn't most of the escargot served in the restaurant here are canned ones? I'll still prefer having it straight from the shell.... the shiokness of scooping the flesh our from the shell..... Should have choosen the Foie Gras...:P

I order the duck confit, that weird of me cuz I felt ducky the whole day(I had the din kum duck @ Isthmus for lunch on the same day) After the starters, I sorta had doubt on their main but the duck turn out to be really good! I never like my food to be plain and sauce-less, but this dish proves me wrong. The duck confit is well marinated (did you know it's marinate with fats?) and the meat is so tender even after they have preserved it. I was expecting it to be like meat jerky but you can still feels the tenderness in the meat. A bit to the salty side (that explain the absent of the sauce) so whoever don't have high tolerance in salty food, plz skip this dish. It's deep fried...my gawd...damn fattening too!!!

Slut order the butter fish....and yes...I totaly agree with all the reviews... The fish is cook just right!! Not too cook and vice versa. The sauce really compliment the fish very well. The sauce taste kinda thai-ish.... sweet, sour... really really good.

I decided to try the tiramisu since it's well recommended by the foodies and for RM18 it totally worth every cents. The tiramisu is heavily drenched with Baileys/Kahlua!! Initially slut wanted to head over to Alexis for their signature Tiramisu, but tankfully we didn't. A bit the small, but the alcohol really kicks it!! The 1st tiramisu I've tasted with lots lots lots lots of alcohol...I mean from alcoholic (ok, ex alcoholic) me, it's really heavy.... no regrets!

Slut still hungry cuz he hasn't have enough his source of carbs (it mean meats!) we headed to Pudu Wai Sek Kai for their famous Fried Chicken. Yes.... Damn good...much better that KFC (cuz it taste similar to KFC too....)

A Lil Gifts for myself.....

Few days have been really sniff-ly for me cuz I'm down with fever, flu, sorethroat.... ARGHH!!!! Not good Not good cuz I can't eat spicy food!!! OK I have some fried fish with stuffed herbs, onion and lemongrass with lime mix which is super good.....Can't resist dude!!! I have this spicy food blood in me man!!! It really shocked my throat abit cuz I'm actually felling much better.....thanks to the Lemongrass mebbe? *in Denial*

My bro came got back from his holiday in Melbourne last week and he bought LOTS LOTS goodies!!! Plus my Fav M&M's Peanut Butter from Singapore Airports!!!!

Nerds, Tim Tams, Starburst, Freddo, Freddo Crunchie which supa good, Arnotts Bacon and Cheese Baked Biscuit (silver foil)..... I love australian made Chocolates!!!
If you see the below Kitkat, in red net next to Nerds.... There's this particular sweet called Suga

Suga

From small beginnings with one shop in Royal Arcade, Suga now has a mini-chain of made-on-site lolly shops. Come and watch the action as the lolly makers stretch, pull and twist the hot molten candy before your eyes, then chop it into jewel-sized bites. An amazing food-as-theatre experience.

I love this flavoured sweet, Hand made right in front of the store. Anyone going to Melbourne, get me a packet yea......

I'm surprise with the pressies my bro got me...(ok his gal fren was there to help him pick)... I liked the green top from Kookai cuz it really flatters my figure, and somehow it doesnt make me look fat. The bikini was just the RIGHT size, and it's FCUK dude( AUD 9.99!!!)!!! the kimono top was really fitting and hide my love handle very well from Cotton On, The brownish top a wee bit loose for me but still fit me nicely and the car tag is sooooo ME!

Thanks Bro!!!!

xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

On my Bday, I decided to take a day off my teaching and head down to Mvalley for my fav pastime-Shopping!!! Met up with lovely Karen for Lunch @ Isthmus, Northpoint! I enjoyed the food very much and thats for the lovely lunch babe!

Karen ordered the set lunch that comes with the Mango and Jicama salad. I Liked it a lot! With a lil twist of Rojak sauce, I like the combination with the mango. Very very fusion!!

The Isthmus platter was pretty good too. The blue dumpling was simply flavourful and I enjoyed the deep fried avocado (with some sauce which I forgot, mix with wasabi i think) The salmon roll thingy was not too bad and Karen had the oyster shot with vodka. Sorry, I don't have the exquisite taste for oyster...what a shame huh!

I ordered the Din Kum duck with fried soba. The The duck was really good!!! Full boost of flavour and tender which the fried soba is so ala chinese.... so home cooked! Just like how my mom will stirfry her vege/meat with simple soya sauce with lots lots of garlic, and that's how it taste like. Pretty interesting concept! (I'm so gonna try to stirfry soba soon) Spot the portebello mushrooms... and the cranberry sauce do compliment the duck very much.

I'm not a big fan of Olio Oglio cuz being a typical Msian, I like my food to boost in flavour and I hate food which taste blend. For pasta, I'm always the white cream person (Carbonara being my top list) but somehow this Olio Oglio Fettucine with 3 mushroom that Karen ordered from the Set Lunch taste so different from the other olio oglio i've tasted. Suspected cooked with pesto, I actually enjoyed eating this. I think they 'asianise', not as blend as I thought.

A truly enjoyable meal. A big shoutout of thanks to Karen once again! *grinz*

Some shopping I did in Mvalley......

I'm sucker for Zara esp their current sales. Not sure how much I've spend on their sales but I jus love their high end design and their cutting which flatters my body more than MNG. Their designs are oh so much more classier the the store next door too. This just only 30% of my splurge in Zara so far during their sales.... :P

Never a Guess fan cuz I find a bit too Lians, but since they are having 40% their bags and this particular design attracts me, I decided to get my hand on it. I saw another much more simpler black made with leather but it's whopping RM600 after discount!!??? I'll never pay so much for a GUess dude!!!

Since it's been raining lately and I can't get my fix of sun tan, I got this Stila Shimmer Dry Oil to give me oil-free fake tan look with hint of shimmer.

To compliment the sun kiss look, I totally fell in love with this Bobbi Brown Surf and Sand Eye Palette. Shimmer Indulgenze!!!

One year Older, One more wrinkle....

Birthday come and goes.... and they say as you grow older, the wiser you are. As for me , I believe I grow wiser cuz I've experienced all the shits, trials and tribulation for the past 27 years that make me a smarter and more street wise person. I would say I thank GOD for all his goodness that he gave me in my past 27 years, that at least I still have my families and love ones around me and nothing drastic has actually happen that totally change my life. I'm still the same 'ol Irene that everyone know...just that probably I'm tad bit wiser I supposed...... *grinz*

My early 20's, I always celebrate my birthday with a bang! Alcohol, boozes.... I never reach home SOBER! Everyone you call FRENS are invited to my big bash.... People that I met once or twice also I consider as frens. As years goes by.... some frens just disappear, grew apart... betrayal...that actually make me think twice...who are my true frens?

As I grow older, you actually keep some frens where you actually think they are worth keeping. Birthday bash getting smaller, hitting the club with a small group without booking a table became a norm. You appreciate small group gathering for a meal more than big group getting each other drunk. Staying sober during your birthday is actually quite fun.

As for this year, Lunches, Dinners..... and probably a small party session at Velvet with close frens.... by just hitting the bar.

so Velvet this Saturday......... BYO

xoxoxoxoxoxox

I had my pre b'day dinner with my Slut @ Prime, Le Meridien.

Since both of us taking red meat we decided on Wirra Wirra 2004 Church Block which I find it too bitter for my liking. The pictures are abit blur cuz I used my 1.3MP camera phone since my camera was with my bro in Melbourne.

Complimentary bread. The have the spicy and non spicy version with 3 type of homemade butter. Garlic butter, unsalted and some bbq flavour. I love freshly baked bread esp homemade one... soft and goes well with the butter. My favourite will be the spicy bread with the bbq butter. So Mexicana!!!

Clam chowder with pacific clam. I find this soup a little too thick...like drinking carbonara sauce. I like the pacific clam...That gave me an idea tha I should slice pacific clam to my Campbell Clam Chowder for more flavour and ingredient...:P

Rocket salad with portobello mushrooms top with cheese and truffles. I love mushromms!!! This salad is yummy with the right tanginess in the sauce.

Our side order..... It's extra cost and we thought it would be served together in our steak plate but no.....its on seperate bowl!!! That explain the double mash. The mash is blend to the finest and not even a trace of solid potato. Just like eating baby food.... One with corn and another with some truffle sauce. I still like the mash from Max! (polenta mash) and Rib Shop.
The one on the right is portobello mushrooms.

Almost forgot to snap the the steaks as we were salivating on it when it being served on the table. :P That explain the half eaten steaks.

The menu came with so many different kind of steaks...The most expensive will be the Wagyu beef . 200 days I think.... ranging around RM200+++
There is cheapest being 80 days, then 120 days, 200 days......grass fed, grains fed.... I decided on the filet mignon New Zealand 120 days grain fed which apparently more tender. Slut chose Ribeye 120 days too. Mine was medium and Slut chose medium rare....and I actually like it medium rare!!! hrmmm....my taste in steaks are getting rarer and rarer...:P
Slut ribeye is abit blur...so I didn't load it up.

As for sauces, I chose the Bernaise sauce which I don't like it. A bit of coconuty taste which is very weird with my steak. Slut chose the truffle sauce with red wine which I say is pretty decent and goes very well with the steak.

The total bill came out RM500++ But thanks to my Starwood card.... I only paid RM330ish plus... 50% off for food and 20% off for wine. A pretty good experience..... with pretty decent steak. do give it a try.

Heavenly Pleasure...

Am using my 1.3MP camera phone cuz my camera has been loan to my bro who's currently holidaying in Melb. Mind the cacat quality

Got myself a Chocolate Durian, 2 protiferoles and banana pie from Just Heavenly Pleasure
If you are huge fan of durian and chocolate.... their chocolate durian is a sin!!! With good and fresh and quality and big chunks of durian in the middle covered with dark chocolate cake slithers with chocolate fudge this is totally heavenly not to mention super 'heaty' too.

check out the durian chunks wei.......

I heart vanilla based custard cream more than anything else hence I fell in love with their protiferoles. It's like eating soggy version of cream puff.....the custard cream is yummmmmmmmmmylicious when I 1st tried it. Reminds me of Beard Papa Cream puff only smaller.
I haven tried the banana pie but when the sales girl mention the cream is the same as the one they used on the protiferoles, without thinking twice i quickly purchase it. I love banana and now with my fav vanilla custard.....this must be heavenly cuz I read in a few blogs that this sold out pretty quick!

Go there early in order to savour their popular treats as they get sold out pretty quickly like Chocolate Durian and the Banana Pie. I've actually tried their cakes (only pre-order in their b'sar kitchen) and it's pretty yummy too.

Reminising those days........

Monday!!! I hate Mondays!!! Its one of my laziest days where I'm ohh soo lazy to work. Thank goodness I only work like 4 hours....*Grinz*

Last week after teaching of my group class, my 14 year old student came to me...

Teacher can you do me a favour.... I'm hungry can I borrow some $$$? I followed Olivia here cuz my mom la dump me and went for Jusco sales.

Ehh...you didn't eat anything before class?

Got la...a little bit only....

Can...... What you intend to eat?

I just wanna buy green tea from 7-11

HAr??? didn't you said you were hungry....downstairs got bakery shop, let's go get some buns

Har??? Dun wan la..... I just want green tea.......

But u said you were hungry? *scratch head* ..You on diet issit? scared of Carbo isssit? *in a teasing voice*

*she answered in a serious voice *Yalar...Damn fattening you know....

Siau!!!! If you wan green tea, you can have my water instead! Crazy girl...hungry get proper food la!!! Let's go get some buns then.......

Aiya teacher....no need la then...... I scared fat la......

Then she trotted off.....without her green tea.
Ok... a skinny (yes she's skinny) 14 year old who's scared of being fat. I mean common dude...It's the growing age man!!!!

She's a kinda kid who can list you what's the latest fashion (of their own generation) to the latest hit single in America Top 50! She is my only pre-teen (1 and half years back then when she enter secondary school) student which answer, '"Teacher we are not your children nor kids anymore....we are TEENAGERS!!!!" when i mention "OK CHILDREN....please turn to page....."
All these exposure from the West, being skinny and bitchy, rolling eyes, skanky dressing..... cheerleader attitude so far different from my days when I'm in school where our aim beside studying is to have pure fun without involving any beauty regime.

Prom and IU nites are nightmare to me cuz I never have any fancy clothes to wear...

Dressing those days....wearing tank tops was almost a taboo unless you wanna be associated with the "sluts". I wore my 1st sleeveless top when I'm 18 where kids this generation wearing high heels and super shot denim skirt with halter neck and bareback??? TO SHOPPING MALLS? I shop with my flip flops wei!!! ok.... at least something flat....

I saw kids wearing make up.... When I was their age I loathed wearing make up unless I have too (for my church performances) and I own my 1st lipstick when I am 18.

We don't have Zara, Topshop, MNG....... but i remember Esprit baby T, oversize Quicksilver T-shirt and if I'm are lucky maybe a Guess top. I always remember my Converse and Doc Marten 8 hole boots. *grinz*

Those days the only source of communication is our dear house phone and public phone. As for transportation, either we walk or take the public bus unless if we are feeling rich, we'll share a cab.
Majority of my student has handphone and some never even took public bus before...some even cabs!

Ok, those were the days....*sigh* Maybe kids nowadays are more pampered and crime rate those days not as notorious as now...... Even I don't take public transport now.

Btw, My neighbour's fren(4 males sumore) got robbed out their cash and almost hijack their Harrier by 3 men with parangs when they visited him. All these happen right in front of my house and I din't realise it until my mom heard a scream and commotion outside. Apparently they got marked cuz they came from bank with a large sums of $$$$. Scary shiet...... I'm supposed to be out of the house during that time for my class but luckily the class is cancel.

It's not a safe country to live in anymore!!!!!

DeClutter my Rubbish..... and other rants....

It's either I don't post anything for few weeks, or I'll go crazy posting. I'll try to be more adventurous and whip out my camera for my next food outing. Will love to be a flogger -term for food blogger, but there's so many other floggers around which been to more eateries than me. Nevertheless, I'll still love to share my lovely adventure with you reader...(like I have any btw)

Don't have my camera with me at the moment cuz my bro took it to Melbourne for his 10 days trip. YES!!!!!! More snacks!!!!! I'm DEMANDING for a dozen of Krispy Kreme, Arnotts Bacon and Cheese, M&M's Peanut Butter, Willy Wonka Chocolate........... and hopefully a Crumpler ???? Will see....

xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Ok...enough of food!!!! no wonder I"m growing horizontally. I've been decluttering my rooms for the past few days. Basically I've throw (or attempting to trash out, I have this perception this fashion will come back in future) at least trash 20% of my clothes and bags-accessories EXCLUDED. Don' ask me why.

Old clothes which suddenly became hideous to my liking, can't imagine why i bought it the last time, slutty clubbing clothes which I don't think so I'll be wearing anytime now and ever, super dupa teeny weeny ones which I Exactly fit in like 5 years ago when I'm probably 48KG, which I sorta put it on hold for past 5 years hoping I will shed it off....which....there's slight improvement but somehow it stop at 54KG (I'm 5'5 and half btw), and bottoms which I happily discard cuz it's a wee too loose for me now(probably bought it when I was 60KG then)
I kept a top, my Levis Jeans and some evening dressess as my Benchmark attire, hoping I will bring my weights down to 50KG- my Ultimate target!!!! *grinz*

And of cuz, another reason I declutter is so I have a reason to shop more cuz my teeny wardrobe goin to explode. I even hitch some spaces from my brother's wardrobe to store some of my clothes which I only wear for special occasion like my cheongsam and winter clothing. Some of the clothes which I used to hang, I have to fold it to save space.

I'm actually thinking of selling those discarded clothes and bags in Flea market but then our Malaysian concept of Flea Market is to sell brand new stuff??? (like Mont Kiara, Curve...) I wonder what happen to ol'fashion flea market... selling 2nd hand stuff.... What you guys think?

My Bag stand. Definately a damn good tool to save space. Not ALL my bags are hang there. These are more to my everyday used bag which do not need much care. I have another 2 big drawer dedicated to more of my clutches and expensive bags. The last time I count I have almost 70++ bags....*grinz*

And I have almost 70++ pairs of shoes to match with my bags too.

I love my earring Stand!! Got it from Petaling Street at one the wholesaler selling accssories. Really keep my earrings organise. This stand could hold like 90 pairs of earrings..... The blue box below it actually store my silver earrings which I keep it airtight to avoid contact with air which actually could discolour my silver.

Preview on some of my earrings....

Got this 3 pairs from this boutique in SS2 called Dans Amore.

From BKK. RM10- RM12 per pair.

MeiJI.......

I'm a sucker for Meiji product now.... After tasting the Plain Cracker from them, I'll never touch Hwa Tai, Luxury...etc... Retailing around RM3.29 (maybe less at certain supermarkets) per box I would say it's pretty reasonable compare to those imported from European country. With hints of table salt, I just like to eat it plain......good way of keeping in shape...:P

One of my rare catch is this Petite Brunch in Chicken flavour. From my Previous post, I'm sure your guys know I'm a sucker for Chicken biscuit. Meiji Petite brunch Chicken biscuit is really flavourful but yet not too salty. Definately on par with my favourite, Arnotts Chicken Drumstick.

Apologies for the small pictures...can't find other website which has the bigger individual pictures

If your see the little one on far right, that's Copan Butter toast. another very flavourful snacks with full butter flavour. The butter smell is so strong and heavenly ( I'm a sucker for butter based food too) that it actually stinked up my breath. *grinz* A good snack for butter lover.

I just 'picked up' the Pick Up Corn snack Consumme flavour and I'm not sure how does it fare... Let's hope it's as good as the rest.

I got my Petit Brunch and Copan Toast at Taste of Japan fair recently at Curve. I can't seem to find it anywhere else (have checked Cold Storage B'sar and Curve). Hopefully I could find it in this particular shop which sells Japanese and Korean food in Hartamas Shopping Centre which I haven't check it out yet.

I thought they were holding the fair at Bangsar Shopping Comples today but nada! It's either i got the venue wrong or the date. The poster was near BSC tho.....

Lemme know if you know any coming soon....shall stock up my snacks....:P

I'm not a PLASTIC BAG.........

Ok I shamelessly went to KLCC today to catch the launch of Anya Hidmarch I'm not a Plastic Bag. Reached there around 9. The queue was horrible!!!!! While waiting for all the other shops to open, i shamelessly stood and waited...till the management of KLCC (was summoned by Anya Hindmarch staff tho) told us that there won't be enough bags to go around and asked us not to waste anymore time. Some are still stubborn decided to queue on. The queue starts from Anya Hindmarch all the way to Make Up Forever, turn right to lane opposite FCUK...all the way to coffee bean, continue upstairs to the elevator turning right till.... those shops one floor above Versace and BCBG ( I cannot remember the shop name la)

CRAZY!!!! When the clock strike 10, I humbly bring myself to Zara sale instead....which I scored better.....*sheeshhhh*

I catched a glimpse of those in the front line...... Not FASHIONITAS!!! I mean the crowd!!!! OMG.... I shall not comment here.... Thank goodness I decided not to buy.... I don't want to be carrying the same bag as 'them'...err...oh well... I don't wan to be mean here.... Not to say I'm damn stylish or anything....err...OK FINE call me a bitch... why don't YOU (who witness the frontline crowd) comment ????

The line starts as early as 7am.....siau!

Transformer.....Robots in Disguise!!! (Spoilers ahead)

Transformer.... More than meets the eyes.....Transformer....Robots in Disguis......Transformer........(lyric by stlyrics.com)
alien in disguise........ Transformer......(I forgot...:P)

oopsss...I always thought was Alien in Disguise.....*slaps*

A much anticipated movie of all year and I definately agree this movie RAWKS!!!! Breath-taking throughout the whole show and I fucking enjoyed it. I expected it to be a serious movie but I love it how the script writer add a lil humour on it....eg. the scene in Sam Witwicky house where the Autobots tries to hide from his family....freaking hilarious!!!

Totally gonna be my FAVOURITE movie of the year....ya think?

The robots seems so real and agile!!! Good work on the animation dept. The way they change into their respective instrument really mesmerise me....it's so flawless!!!

I do miss those days the sound of the changes goes 'nget nget nget nget' and the boxy little character..but nevertheless, it's the new era and the robots too has to evolve to high tech looking ;)

The only part which tick me a bit was, Megatron look so FIERCE!!! I mean the older version of Megatron is supposed to be silver and tame (not to mention Cool) looking too and he didn't change to the GUN!!! He was my fav character those days cuz he changed into a GUN (Don't ask me why I like him changing into a gun...I was a lil Kid dude)
And how he died...... I mean......Y?????? It's sooooo Easy....it's like an easy and safe way to end the movie. I suspected there's gonna be part 2, but Megatron died-ed....so... Starscream will be a main villain???

Don't you think he look handsome and cool back then.......??? but then.... the 'trigger' look abit obscene-leh....O_o

Anyway back to the movie...my Fav character would be..........

He's so cute, funny, brave and LOYAL!!!
and I totally LOVE him!!!!
