Pass the 3 years Itch.....
DOn't expect me to write up or look for some romantic poetry cuz..... Literature is not my thang..... I'm too sucker to be a romantic person
Since he has to be away during the day itself, we decided to celebrate it early. We wanted to dine at Villa Danielli, Sheraton Imperial but the restaurant is on renovation till this year end. Not to mention I had strings of unfortunate event on the day itself, I just need a nice and cozy place to dine in that's all. It's late to do buffet dinner since I'm off work a little late hence we ended up in Porto Romano @ TTDI.
This place is pretty small, probably only 15 tables for 4 perhaps? Since it was impromptu, we didn't made any reservation. It's a big no no if you intend to dine in here on the weekend. Mostly occupied by big groups and family gathering, thank goodness there's a table for 2 since we arrive after 830.
The ambiance here pretty classy and homely. I like the artsy fartsy kinda abstract painting hanging on the wall... my ideal kinda deco for my home. Dimly lite, minimalist design.... and yeah... a mini bar would be good too.
No it's not an engagement ring mind you.... no traces of diamond dude!... I just like how it came out. Proud of my photo-taking skills... :P
We didn't order appetizer cuz Slut not feeling too good so we decided on just main meal. I didn't have much appetite since I was pretty tired from work.
We order seafood marinara and Slut opt for just squids and prawns ( It supposed to come with clams and mussels too). Me being not fancy tomato based dish, I kinda enjoy this version tho. The tomato sauce is not too empowering which I think they used fresh ones instead of puree (which i particularly hate) blend well with herbs and spices. It makes it not too 'jelak' and both the prawns and squids were succulent and fresh too. Coming from a carbonara fan (me!), this dish got a thumb up from me.
Risotto al Funghi. Slut being a fan of tomato sauce, he said somehow it fare better than the pasta. I find it otherwise. No doubt they used white cream based which is my favorite, I find this dish taste abit weird. Perhaps this is the 1st time I tasted a risotto. Might be the mushrooms? I tried paella and I like it but risotto.... hrmm... I dunno....
I truly enjoy this tiramisu. Of cuz nothing beats my favourite from Alexis and Banquet, but these fare pretty well too. The only thing I hope is they replace the Almond liquor with other liquor (maybe Baileys' or Kahlua?) cuz I never like the taste of processed almond.
This not my 1st time here, but I think the I enjoyed the food more on my previous visit. Maybe we both tired and not feeling really well that it may screw up our taste bud. Nevertheless, I'll probably give this place another try in future. Service here is pretty good and the waiter/waitresses here are pretty helpful even tho they are busy.
