Bali- Food.....

The reason I delayed my Bali post cuz internet been pissing me off. Finally I get to access Airasia.com for my free ticket to Hanoi *woot*woot* in Sept, Diving in Perhentian in Apr and Phantom Of the Opera in apr too!! Currently, sourcing out cheap airasia ticks to Bangkok in June.

Anyway, not blogging much about place of interest, tourist spot bla bla bla cuz we've been there last year doing the tourist thingy. This year round, our activities are more to relaxing, sun-tanning, shopping, eating, shopping, sun-tanning.... If you wanna know more about Bali, do check out my last year post here and here

This year we stayed at Fat Yogi, Poppies lane 1 at Kuta. Mere 10 mins walk to the beach I highly recommended this beautiful place. Only 16 unit you get all the privacy for only USD19 (that's including year-end surcharge). The best part is our room was newly furbish with new furniture and this place comes with bath-tub, hot water, aircond and importantly CLEAN..... The neccesities I look for when i book my hotel. The only slack part is the aircond is pathetic that somehow took a long time to cool the room.

Food hunt in Kuta

On my 1st nite, we decided to try the food at our hotel's restaurant, Fat Yogi. Sucky part as we didn't get any discount cuz apparently it's different management. wateva...My pasta was not too bad.. Their calzone are supposed to be their specialities but we didn't try it. No pics cuz I forgot.... ;P

I went crazy over all their nasi goreng. Everywhere warung I go i order either their nasi goreng or Maggie goreng. Somehow it tastier ala indonesia style. Their pork satay is awesome too!!!!

Warung Made's, one of the popular and and longest serving warung in Kuta, hence it became a classy Warung instead. Their nasi campur kick ass.... for USD4. Last year I tried their nasi goreng and it kick ass too...!!!!!!

Hunting in Seminyak

from top:- Scallop, Portebello Mushrooms with escargot, some seafood soup and the bread to accompany the escargot.

from left:- Ribeye, sauce and fries and my tenderloin.

We had our dinner in Cafe Warisan as it's recommended by one of our friends. The food is fantastic and our steak are PERFECTLY done the way we wanted. You know, not those when you order medium is either you get medium rare or medium well shit. you get just WHAT you WANTED. I order medium and Slut order medium rare for his ribeye, and 1st time I actually enjoy eating medium rare.....not bloody but perfect redness at the middle. Total bill came out around RM200 but it's worth every cents. We went on weekdays and it's PACK!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Another place not to be miss is Ku De Ta.... I love the ambience!!! The restaurant is inside but outside they have long lazy chairs facing the beach. Al-fresco and romantic lying down watching the moon and the stars. Not a good place to bring your date if it's raining, and it will spoil the purpose of the ambience. I heard the food is pretty steep but we were there for a drink enjoying our moment with each other and the stars......

The slack part with this al-fresco dining in Bali fine restaurant. There's no MIST fan and I was sweating my ass down eating and drinking. Unfortunately it wasn't windy so don't bother about putting make up. Not many ppl actually play dress up, so a simple sun dress will do. Even the inside of their restaurant are without aircond and fan. So far for sweaty fine dining....BAH!

EAting in Ubud

On our 2nd last day we decided to check out Ubud to shop for my mum giraffe. The mafan giraffe which I have to hand carry to the plane, and and the head disattached due to turbulance. Initially wanna get her the cat too, but carrying a pair of girrafe is such a nuisance we decided to scrap that from our list.

I will neva miss their popular Babi Guling near the Ubud market. I absolutely loves their roast pigg with a dash of herbs...and their deep fried intestines are my favourite too!!!

After Babi Guling, our 1nd helping was Bebek (duck) Bengil (dirty). They have a pretty interesting story how they came out with the name of the place.

One tropical monsoon Morning, when the restaurant was close being finish (we had the concrete floors down and tables in) a floc of ducks from the rice paddy field across the road run quaking and squawking into the restaurant and across the floor and tables. They left muddy and webbed footprint all over the place. They were our first guest...... these Dirty Ducks!!!
~ direct qoute by Bebek Bengil (I guess what happen to all the bebek....din't manage to spot any..hrmm)

This beautiful restaurant is surrounded by huts and concrete building as an eating area with landscaping in the middle and over-looking rice paddy field.

We ordered 2 set of Bebek Bengil set..basically deep-fried half bebek with sauce (something like our sambal) and vegetables and choices either potatoes or rice. I think they have 2 kitchen cuz we sat on the end of those huts and we spotted another kitchen. It's yummy and.....crispy. Something different from the usual roast or stir fry duck we have back home.

The orignal Bumbu Bali is actually from BAli itself.... which we didn't get a chance to try this round...maybe next trip??

Before I forget....

A bintang beer is a must to end all the perfect meals.

:Edited:

Yummylicious Nasi Padang somewhere near the airport in Tuban. It's called CC I think, recommended by locals. The best part about about this is they'll put everything on the table and you get to choose which you want to eat. If it's untouch (make sure be more etiquette don't la go poke poke here and there) they would keep it and it wouldn't be charge.

Next would be....Waterbom!!
